"DISGUSTING" Cardi B Blasts 35-Year Sentence After Karmelo Anthony Murder Conviction

Cardi B did not hide her frustration after a Texas jury convicted Karmelo Anthony of murder and handed down a 35-year prison sentence for the fatal stabbing of Austin Metcalf.

The Grammy-winning rapper took to social media shortly after the punishment was announced. As reported by TheGrio, she called the outcome "DISGUSTING" and argued that Anthony was being turned into an example rather than receiving justice.

Her posts quickly spread across social platforms and drew strong reactions from both supporters and critics. Some agreed with her assessment, while others defended the jury's decision.

Anthony, now 19, was convicted in the death of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf following a confrontation during a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas. Jurors rejected a self-defense argument presented during the trial.

Testimony described a dispute that began under a team tent during a rain delay. Prosecutors argued Anthony escalated the encounter by pulling a knife, while defense attorneys maintained he feared for his safety.

Following the verdict, Cardi B shared additional posts expressing sympathy for Anthony. One message included photographs of Anthony and Cyrus Carmack-Belton, the South Carolina teenager whose death drew national attention in 2023.

By placing the images side by side, the rapper suggested both young men were failed by circumstances surrounding their cases. That comparison became one of the most discussed parts of her online response.

Inside the courtroom, members of the Metcalf family delivered emotional statements before sentencing. Austin's mother told Anthony that she had effectively received a life sentence through the loss of her son.

The case has remained a lightning rod online since the stabbing occurred in April 2025. Cardi B's comments ensured that debate over the verdict continued long after jurors left the courthouse.

Millions of views, reposts, and arguments followed as screenshots of her remarks circulated widely.
