TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Trulieve is stepping onto one of the most recognizable stages in global finance after building its name through Florida's medical marijuana market. The company has received approval to list its shares on the New York Stock Exchange, becoming the first U.S. cannabis operator to reach a major American exchange.
NYSE approval places the Tallahassee based company in territory cannabis executives spent years trying to reach. Major U.S. exchanges largely avoided businesses directly involved in marijuana while cannabis remained a Schedule I controlled substance under federal law.
Kim Rivers views the listing as more than a stock market achievement. As reported by Trulieve, the founder and chief executive said becoming the first U.S. cannabis company on a major exchange could expand the shareholder base, improve liquidity and increase awareness of medical marijuana.
Trading under the symbol TRLV began June 10. Existing shareholders were not required to exchange shares or take any action before the transition.
Until the move, Trulieve shares primarily traded through Canadian and over the counter markets. Those venues became the primary option for many American cannabis companies that could not access the NYSE or Nasdaq.
Business restructuring became a key step in the process. Following federal marijuana rescheduling, Trulieve separated operations tied to adult use cannabis markets from the business structure reviewed by exchange officials.
Investors continue watching the company's financial performance closely. Trulieve reported roughly $1.2 billion in revenue during 2025 and operated more than 200 dispensaries across its network.
Florida remains the center of the company's business footprint. Cultivation facilities, processing operations and retail locations throughout the state helped Trulieve become one of the largest cannabis companies in the country.
June 10 trading carried meaning beyond a single corporation. American cannabis operators spent years watching Canadian companies gain access to major exchanges while remaining locked out themselves.
Several cannabis businesses are now exploring similar paths to major exchange listings. Trulieve's arrival on the NYSE could become an important test for how Wall Street approaches the next phase of the cannabis industry.
